Got a Kenmore vacuum cleaner with a self-winding retractable cord?Have any other appliance that has a moulded right angle (90°) plug?This is the plug you want for replacement.It's the only thing that will nest within the recessed regions of the Kenmore housing when the cord is retracted.Kenmore only offers a replacement cord on a spring wound reel for $60 or more.Why buy that when all you need is a new plug?This is what you need.
Note there are two versions:One version has polarized prongs (one prong bigger than the other) and one version is non-polarized (both prongs the same width).
If your appliance has a polarized plug, you'll need to get that version.If your appliance is "double insulated" then it won't have a polarized plug.This non-polarized version is very convenient.The non-polarized version fits into any open outlet.You don't have to swap plugs in an outlet so you can orient this 90° plug because it fits either way.
Easy to install.Lasts a long time except that my wife and kids yank the cord from the wall all the time and eventually I have to reaffix the plug on the cord again.They also seem to step on it a lot and drag furniture over it.Eventually, it gives way and I've got to replace the plug every couple of years or so.Sure is cheaper to buy a $3.00 plug instead of a $60 cord and reel.
